Further to the cons entry ... and other SG stuff
Saturday, 27 December 2003 17:41Now Wolf have announced their 10th anniversary celebration and because I'll have been to at least 3 of their cons I can get a free ticket to it. Bookings don't begin until 1st February so hopefully by then they'll have given some indication of what guests they hope to get and I'll see whether I'm interested enough.
Yesterday morning I was talking to my sister about TV series, she doesn't always get to watch every show so she likes series where it doesn't matter if she misses a few. Thus she admits she'll watch the likes of Voyager (I did for a couple of seasons when it was on BBC2 but got tired of it) and Stargate. She likes Jack and his sense of humour and when I mentioned on some lists and forums there was been some thoughts about what Jack's degree could be in she sat there thinking, saying subjects she doubts he'd have done (eg maths) but didn't manage to come up with an answer.
She then asked me how many of the SG actors I'd met at cons, she knew the main characters and recognised DSD when I showed her the photos from SG6 but didn't know most of the other minor characters. Her eyes did glaze over when I went on about too many of the characters she'd never seen. Whatever, I don't think I'll ever have the surprise Dawn had when Vikki turned up at SG6, my sister won't be giving my heart failure by going to a con.
PS Dearest little sister isn't going home until after New Year, probably not until 4th January, so she's gonna have to put up with my attempt to get up and go to work on 2nd January. She'll probably just pull the beding up over her head and ignore me as I crash around the room.
