Next week, on part time hours, I get to try and fill my own job, the job of hte woman leaving for school, AND the job of the woman who was terminated.

I can really symathise with you. At least I have my boss (ex secretary) around and a part-timer (Mondays and Tuesdays) who can do a few bits of work to help out.
One good thing is that in the post today I got my revised contract which raises me to the grade I've had an honorarium to for the past 11 and a half months.
