A while go I mentioned that sometime soon I'd be working on work's website and putting on course info, I started (with the straight forward stuff) today. 12 pdfs of the brochures uploaded to the server, 6 "brochure" pages (blurb about 1 of the brochures plus pdf and contact details) finished, 1 intro page kinda finished and 6 more "brochure" pages part done. I'm not doing the pages with all the actual course info on yet as I only have the 12 pdfs and not the spreadsheets of course info to edit to create dozens and dozens of pages (I would like to kick somebodys' backsides about this delay but I have other work to do so maybe the delay is a godsend?).
For the brochure pages I'm looking through each brochure looking for some of the courses to give people an idea what's on offer, so I've skimmed through 6 brochures today and have found a few strange courses. The Hopi ear candles workshop is running again this year (it causes much amusement when you mention it to people) and the same centre is running quite a range of alternative therapies and stuff.
Biggest hoot of the day
Sandra's typing strikes again: instead of typing "Computing for the terrified" I typed "Computing for the terrierfied" instantly summoning up the image of a yappy little terrier dog harrassing some poor computer user, and reducing me to uncontrolable giggling. When I stopped laughing and could speak again I explained it to my colleague who promptly came up with the same image and had both of us laughing.
Weird course of 2003 - 2004 may go to:
Middle Earth Modelling
Create your own landscape for the friends of the Ring and their foes of the Lord of the Rings. Make trees, hedges, rocks and pools and add mystery to the landscape. Learn how to paint creatures - good and evil. A fully hands-on training course for all ages 12 - adult.
I kid you not, that is what the course blurb says.
Cashing in on the popularity of LotR or what? Well it is a local subject.
Other than that today has been too darn hot and sticky. Last night was not a good night for sleeping and I was perfectly okay today while I was in the office (even though it's not air conditioned) but once I was outside walking to the bus stop then on the bus home I just sweated like mad. Tomorrow is supposed to be pretty hot too :-(
