Found this interesting about the history of the CD:

and I didn't know that The Visitors by Abba was one of the first CDs produced.

It took me several years to start buying CDs and I know that Pictures at an Exhibition was the first one I bought.
If you want scary I can also remember my first LP (Abba's Greatest Hits 2) and first 7" single (Spandau Ballet Musclesbound/Glow) but I've forgotten what the first 12" single was - may have been Blue Monday by New Order.

Ah, the memories...can't remember my first CD, but my first album was Fantastic by Wham, while my first 7 inch was either Thriller by Michael Jackson or Union of the Snake by Duran Duran. I think I bought them at the same time...
