Have been on another mini quest for MP3s at amazon.co.uk today. Found what I was seeking in particular, the original version of 'Action' by Sweet from 1975, no I don't think I remember hearing it before even thought it reached the Top 20 singles here back then. The Def Leppard version is an improvement but I was curious to hear the original.

Downloaded the long version of 'Love is like oxygen' also by Sweet which was a bit of a mistake, the ending is pretty dire so next time I download some songs the somewhat shorter version is in my shopping basket along with Bruce Dickinson's version of 'All the young dudes' (not a fan of either David Bowie or Mott the Hoople's versions or that) and Brian May's 'Driven by you'.

BBC - Radio 2 - Events - Thank You For The Music: A Celebration Of The Music Of Abba

It's starting to sound interesting and the fact that it's when the humans are away means I can go mad and have Radio 2 on on dad's over the top hi-fi in the living room.

Some names I know from the current list of performers - Kylie, Benny Andersson (of course), Jason Donovan, Chaka Khan, Lulu, Siobhan McCarthy (got a feel she was the original Donna in Mamma Mia), Elaine Paige, Marti Pellow, Tim Rice, Stellan Skarsgard (he was in the movie of Mamma Mia) and Anders Eljas. Loads of others I don't think I've ever heard of before so time to Google them.
